Countless factors affect valve operation over time. Rubber components break down and suspended solids build up inside the valve – creating friction and interfering with mechanical movement.
An unmaintained valve can cause inconsistent pressures and may require premature replacement.
It could also stop functioning completely – leading to catastrophic loss of pressure during critical high demand situations (e.g. fire flow) or catastrophic high pressure – causing main breaks and utility blow outs.

Control valve manufacturers recommend you replace the internal rubber components every 3-5 years. A rebuild consists of a full disassemble and cleaning of main valve and pilot controls, replacement of all rubber parts, inspection of all metal or plastic parts, and reassembly and testing to ensure proper operation.

Spot issues before they become emergencies. We’ll check and fix leaks in the pilot system, clean strainers in main valve and pilot systems, exercise the valves and check calibration to ensure they’re working properly.
